Crocodile Attacks NYC.. well almost. Yes, I run right past the pond this baby was caught in. I'm glad it didn't grow older, bigger and kill me one night. In other news, my Robot Creation Program is up and running. You can create all the settings for how your robot personality will communicate. You can even get it to talk on Aol IM.

Ahh. A fun Father's Day 5K Race today. I didn't do as well as I hoped, but not to bad considering how far back I started. Here are the results. I'm #141 in men, #144 over all or something. With my Net time of 19:59, I should have been like 130th.. There were a good 2000 people and it covered on live TV.. update: added this pic of my finish..

This is for you New Yorkers: two things: First, I noticed something for the first time yesterday while running in central park. All the street lights are marked with an ID number, for example E7601, what you might not have noticed is that this lamp post is right near East 76th street. That's right, all street lights are marked with the nearest side street! Never get lost in central park again! Secondly, anyone in need of a 17" color computer monitor? I've just upgraded and would like to give it to someone I know!

I was just looking over the new Ellis Island Records.org and found a few trips that my grandfather made when he was just a little older then I am now. It's a great site for searching the records of who came through the island (not just immigrants you know). It provide copies of the original ship manifests (in which they asked the passengers some pointed questions: such as "Polygamist? Anarchist?") and even pictures of some of the ships. Try it out and search for some relatives...

After running in the Red Rose Run some people were surprised to read in the paper that I actually finished. Well, I was only a little slower then my goal and came in at 33:34 in 124th place out of over 2000 runners or so. I was up front at the start, and so had a very fast (5:45) first mile. By the big hills near the end of the race, I was pooped. Luckly I kicked in it in near the end to pass some Amish guy.
